Steem Philippines | 12th Official Meetup in Davao City
We had our 12th official meetup for #SteemPhilippines two days ago on Wednesday, and in attendance was @nathansenn, @chrisrice, @emafe, @jancharlest, @jemmanuel, @usveteran, @viverlie, @hiddenblade, @spintwister and @princesremedies.
The group started with @usveteran arriving first, followed by @chrisrice and soon after @nathansenn. Gerhard @usveteran mentioned how he is hoping that Steem will help him leave something behind for his wife @viveralie since he is a bit older than her and right when @chrisrice was going to address that, @jemmanuel, @jancharlest and @princesremedies arrived in.
- There were two full pizzas there for the group, one purchased by @emafe and the other one purchased by @usveteran.
Upon their arrival, Jaka @jemmanuel, Jan @jancharlest and Princes @princesremedies sat at the far end of the table next to Chris @chrisrice with @usveteran inserting with side comments about @jancharlest being his handsome boy and asking the group to sit in closer so that they could talk to one another.
@usveteran is definitely the joker of the group and enjoys his sense of humor and it adds some laughter to the meetups. In addition to their weekly meetups, they all participate in a Facebook group chat where they are pretty much interacting daily.
During this meetup there were different discussions at different ends of the table but @chrisrice introduced some ideas for the Steem-based DAPP that some of the members are planning on building. He had some ideas about how to make their app more relevant and an idea of actually make USD$ sales on the Steem blockchain through their DAPP.
Most of the ideas he shared will not be included in this post since they want to ensure that they are the first to market their ideas but @princesremedies replied favorably to @chrisrice's ideas and they've agreed to have a private meeting about it with everyone involved in the creation of the DAPP.
One of the things gained from this group was the realization that there needs to be private meetings set at invite only. We didn't take enough pictures to show everyone who was there but there were more people in addition to the ones photoed above, and some of them don't have a Steem account yet.
In addition to that, some of the Steemians who attended are not as hardcore into Steem as @chrisrice, @nathansenn, @jancharlest and others are, so the weekly meetups will be the outreach of #SteemPhilippines where everyone and anyone who is aware of the meetups are free to join without charge. The hardcore Steemians will then have private meetups to discuss the building of Steem-based businesses on the Steem blockchain which will be set to invite only.
Lastly, it was decided that Gerhard @usveteran would become the curator for @steem-ph which when combined with the members who trail the upvotes of @steem-ph, amount to a $0.25 USD upvote. This is the summary of the meetup and I hope you enjoyed reading.
